I have decided to move the UplinkPress websites (this one, plugins, and studio) to a WP multisite instance. Why? The primary reasons are that keeping the same plugins and themes updated across multiple sites seems unnecessary, hosting performance is excellent, I want the freedom to add more related sites, and I want to know that I can.

My biggest dilemma was deciding whether to stick with Etch across the board or bring Bricks into the mix. After some back and forth, installing and reinstalling and uninstalling, and a new plugin to give me a mini-GUI-like experience (it is very cool, if I do say so myself), I opted to just stick with Etch. The decision really came down to Gutenberg and components. I want to stay as close to core WP as possible, and Bricks’ component-creation feature just sucks. Bricks 2.4+ is a step in the right direction for many things, but not the component-authoring experience — maybe someday.

Your Input

Over the next two weeks, I am going to come up with a new design (AI failed me) and a complete content review to determine what stays and what goes. Some rearchitecting is likely. Content types that I know are moving in some form include Code (snippets) and the Hub, but everything else is up for removal. That is where you come in. If you visit this site and find things useful or not, features you would like to see, and things that just don’t make sense, let me know in the comments. As long as you don’t attack me personally, feel free to be brutally honest.
