As some of you may have noticed, FW Cafe, FlyingW.press, and FW Foundry have all but disappeared or migrated to UplinkPress-related URLs. While this wasn’t the plan, it seemed appropriate for now.

Why the change?

The FlyingW moniker was something I created back in 2020 as a personal brand, but in 2025, I decided to create a business and call it FlyingW.co. By the end of 2025, I realized I had no interest in being in business and preferred to work for others, take on occasional one-off projects, or do pro bono work for a select group of friends. Unfortunately, the FlyingW became associated with the business, so as 2026 progressed, I realized I needed to make a change — and so UplinkPress was born. The UP “brand” will now be the home of all my WordPress and Etch side projects. In 2027 or 2028, the FlyingW moniker may return as a personal brand and likely replace my Signs of a Life project that is all but lifeless.

As I age, I am letting all of my domains expire, with this one set to go away in 2036. In all likelihood, if I am still kicking, Etch will be a faint glimmer in the history of “what was” in WordPress.
